quadernistics

notesQuadernistics is a neology that derives from another Spanish neologism cuadernística. It is a derivative of Spanish cuaderno which means “notebook”. Whereas cuaderno comes from Latin quatuor, that means “four”.

This name was applied for some parts of old books that were made of gatherings –  sections of four folded sheets that made eight pages. These gatherings were bound together and formed the body of book.
